Abstract

The celebration of the International Year of the Family offers a good opportunity to go deeper knowledge of the fundamental values ​​of marriage and the family and also of rights and parental commitments. Taking advantage of the opportunity the article takes into consideration the preaching of the Word of God, to catechetical instruction, to the missionary action of Church, Catholic education and finally participation in the preparation of programmes of the mass media and their responsible use. The knowledge of the primary role of the parents as it results from reflection is a starting point for full participation in the apostolate. In addition, the possibility of parental participation in the function in teaching depends on the openness of pastors to collaboration.
