St John Bosco’s Church in Kurhan 1934-1945. History of the First Church in Poland in Honor of the Salesians of don Bosco’s Founder

Abstract

The article describes the history of establishing of the first St John Bosco's church in Poland in Kurhan. Emerging parish of Kurhan was a branch of Vilnius center of Salesians in Dobrej Rady Street. The church was built and consecrated in 1935, existed until the end of World War II, then was sovietized and Salesians have never returned to it. The author has described facts unknown so far, having arranged residual information connected with the farm Kurhan. The author has also visited the place where the church in Kurhan (Belarus) was situated and has described material remains existing there.
