Abstract

This article is a part of the scientific discourse about communication within the family in the context of conflict and the ways of solving it. this is because the family is the first and the most basic man’s living environment in which the communication process occurs. this fact is conditioned by two factors. the family is the first school of human communication. Second, communication in the family influences other important family processes, such as cooperation, competition, and conflict . Interpersonal communication in the family includes the wider context of the relationship between its members. each family member is both the sender and the recipient of broad verbal and nonverbal messages; an important factor, which gives specific nature of communication is the desire to communicate. What makes communication in the family unique is a special intensity of personal interaction due to the frequency and persistence of contacts related to the fact of cohabitation and coexistence of its members. It is worth noting that even in the most harmonious and successful families, conflicts are inevitable. But frequent family conflicts can cause many problems, both psychological (eg. Hyperactivity, indifference, helplessness, lack of confidence, anxiety) and social (eg. difficulties in living with the surrounding environment, disregard for social norms). However, it is very important to realize that the conflict itself is not something fundamentally wrong, because, in addition to the negative, there are also positive aspects of family conflicts: properly solved they teach good communication, negotiation skills, determination and an ability to justify defend one’s own opinion.
