Abstract

In the article we limit ourselves to the analysis of solutions functioning in Italy, which were subject to monographic research carried out within the framework of the project “Professionalisation of assistance and care services for dependent persons – new standards of education and care”, co-financed by the European Union (project no. POWR. 02.08.00-00-0018/17-00). In the case of the study on the system of support for the elderly in Italy, data were obtained enabling the analysis of the market of care services provided in the public and commercial sector, optimisation of supervision and of planning visits related to the services provided, access to institutional data and analytical tools supporting the processes of increasing the effectiveness of the organisation of care services, analysis of costs of the care services system, the system of jurisprudence and implementation of ICF classification etc. In the article we signalize selected aspects of the system of support for the elderly and the needs for long-term care in Italy as a model example of functioning of a multidimensional solution of the public finance sector.
