Abstract

The discussed study by Piotr Mazur points to new cognitive perspectives of Thomistic anthropology and metaphysics, and points to the role and importance of existential judgments in discovering these perspectives. Today it is difficult to find a job that deals with metaphysical issues in a new light in a way that is both methodically consistent and philosophically justified. The discussed study by Piotr Mazur can be read either as a mature, well-thought-out monograph or as a form of philosophical experiment. It accompanies its polemics with the particular sciences and their aspirations to define a new anthropology, as well as with contemporary philosophical theories of man.
