Abstract

The aim of this article is to present the manifestations, types, and forms of youth organisation in the territory of the Kingdom of Poland, as well as the dynamics of change in these phenomena during the early years of the 20th century, up until Poland regained independence in 1918. The exemplificatory material consists of unpublished memoir sources from the collections of the National Library in Warsaw. Information on various forms of youth involvement in the work of self-education circles, youth organisations, and eventually paramilitary groups is contained in 23 memoirs (selected from several dozen examined during archival research).
