Abstract

The aim of this article is to propose an understanding of performative education as a possible response to planetary crisis and the challenges of the Anthropocene. Drawing on the theoretical background of performance and performativity as well as on critical performative pedagogy, the article presents performative education as an agentive, situated, embodied, material, and anti-disciplinary practice. This perspective is developed in dialog with the river action szczODRA, which serves as an illustrative example of such practices and helps to illuminate their potential for fostering more-than-human communities.
