Abstract

This article examines the pervasive nature of competition in educational settings and its impact on peer relationships and learning outcomes. Drawing on theoretical frameworks and empirical research, this study analyses how structural and intentional competition shapes the school environment. The article argues for a critical evaluation of competition-based pedagogical practices and proposes examples of collaborative learning activities for teachers to use with children. The author presents specific methods for building a cooperative classroom atmosphere and analyses their educational value in the context of students' social competence development.
