Ethics of Solidarity Fr. Józef Tischner in the Education of the 21st Century

Abstract

The article is devoted to research in the field of social phenomenology of Fr. Józef Tischner (1931-2000), in which one of the most important issues is the Ethics of Solidarity, understood as the Ethics of Conscience. The basic premise of the text was to recognize the project of the Ethics of Solidarity as socially and pedagogically engaged in its source. Consequently, the most important goal here is to reveal the internal potential of the above proposal for analyzes in the field of general and social pedagogy. In 2021 it was the 90th anniversary of the author's birth and the 40th anniversary of the first edition of the Ethics of Solidarity (1981), it was a good opportunity to reconstruct the basic theses of the project, but also an attempt to indicate the educational potential, with particular emphasis on social issues in the time of challenges faced by a democratic society in the 21st century in Poland and Europe.
