Liturgical Movement as “The Passage of the Holy Spirit in the Church”

Abstract

The article presents liturgical movement in Western Europe stressing its classical period and activities of many liturgical institutes. Moreover, the author describes the liturgical renewal movement in Poland before the Second Vatican Council and characterizes the centers of liturgical movement in Płock, Vilnius, Lvov, Lublin, Cracow, Poznań, Gniezno, and Cieszyn. Further the author discusses the main ideas of liturgical renewal present in the works of Polish theologians and shows the profiles of forerunners of liturgical renewal and their activities.
