‘Participatio actuosa’ as a Goal of the Liturgical Reform

Abstract

Prof. A. Durak SDB, professor of liturgy at the University „Cardinal Stefano Wyszyński” in Warsaw and other theological centres, head of the chair of liturgical hermeneutics, dedicates his study to participatio actuosa, still in the context of the celebration of the 40th anniversary of Sacrosanctum council. The author first recalls the history of the evolution of the concept of participatione. Yes dwells on the most significant documents of the Popes, published before Vatican II. Using the recent liturgical literature on participatio actuosa, shows the importance of the magisterium on this vast problem of authentic Christian life. In the third part of the study, Don A. Durak shows participatio actuosa as the main aim of the liturgical reform of Vatican II. The Professor invites believers so that, through active participation, they let life flourish church liturgical.
