Abstract

The author of this article considers the debate on bioethics in order to show the specific context and meaning of the dispute. As a result, he came to the conclusion that, in fact, it is first of all a dispute on the human being as human being (how to protect his/her interests), and then on the family as family and its role in today’s pluralistic society. A further conclusion: this dispute is very deep, it is taking place in the aspect of the very definition of bioethics, its formal and material subject matter, and also in the context of the importance of the themes addressed, namely the hierarchical system of the analyzed content. This ongoing discussion (without final solutions) has its negative impact on the quality of social life (and vice versa).
