Abstract

The review of Gabriela Pleschová’s book The Long-Term Effects of Educational Development Programmes. Collaboration, Trust and Leadership discusses research findings on the long-term impact of educational development programmes for university teachers. The reviewer emphasizes that sustainable changes in teaching practice depend not only on participation in professional development programmes but also on institutional support, collaborative culture, and trust-based relationships. A significant contribution of the book is the identification of different developmental pathways followed by academic teachers after programme completion, as well as the analysis of factors that facilitate or hinder the implementation of teaching innovations. The publication offers valuable recommendations for higher education institutions and provides important insights into the professional development of academic staff.

Kieruje Szkołą Doktorską APS oraz Zespołem Badań Kultury Szkoły i Procesu Kształcenia działającym w Instytucie Pedagogiki APS. Autorka ponad osiemdziesięciu prac naukowych, w których koncentruje się na środowisku szkolnym, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem klimatu i kultury szkoły oraz problemu przemocy rówieśniczej.
