Abstract

For about 5 years now, procedures for granting scientific degrees in Poland have been carried out in accordance with the provisions of the new Act - Law on Higher Education and Science. This period of validity of the new regulations has already made it possible to test the new regulations in practice, and therefore also provides an opportunity to consider possible or necessary changes in the regulations regarding scientific degrees. The article indicates several issues regarding the requirements for granting scientific degrees, as well as the procedures for granting them, in which it would be possible and justified to make corrections by the legislator.
