UCS is included into academic journals list of the Ministry of Education and Science (MEiN - position 32563), authors receive 20 points for every research article published.

“Academic Journal of Sociology” (Polish - "Uniwersyteckie Czasopismo Socjologiczne" - UCS) is semi-annual periodical published by Academic Publishing House of Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw (Polish: UKSW). Editorial board members include the employees of the Institute of Sociological Sciences UKSW. The UCS academic journal contains important texts on theoretical issues (original academic articles), as well as those focusing on research issues (reports). Among publications there are also reviews and specific section “Attempts and débuts” dedicated for doctoral students and early career authors. The journal’s ambition is to expand sociological knowledge about current areas of social practice, referring to many areas and meanings. The thematic scope include mainly sociology per se, but also related disciplines: cultural anthropology, general knowledge about human being and culture, as well as the methodology of sociological research, demography, history and philosophy. 

The journal has been published continuously since 2007. Initially, it functioned only in an electronic form (annually). Since 2014, electronic and traditional-paper versions have been published simultaneously (initially in the quarterly, and now semi-annual format). Editorial office provides circulation of the author’s copies and separate articles. Electronic versions are available on the journal webpage. The UCS journal applies the Open Access policy - free access to publication collections based on the use of a non-exclusive license, assuming the publication of articles under the creative commons CC-BY-ND 4.0 license.

The UCS editors allow the authors of texts to place (deposit) their final versions (submitted, accepted - reviewed and finally published) in a repository of their choice (e.g. ResearchGate, Academia, etc.), provided that the original source of publication, which is the UCS pages, is provided .
