Abstract

The article is a commemorative text devoted to Rev. Prof. Jarosław Michalski (1964–2024), an educator, researcher, and academic teacher. Its aim is to present the most important stages of his life, scholarly development, teaching activity, and organizational and social engagement. The authors briefly discuss the development of his research interests, including religious pedagogy, philosophy of education, the meaning of life, and the personalist-existential foundations of education. The article also presents his major publications, research projects, international activity, and the academic roles he held. Particular attention is given to his pedagogical concept, which combined axiological, hermeneutic, and existential perspectives. The text presents Rev. Prof. Michalski as a scholar who connected theoretical reflection with teaching practice and with efforts to develop pedagogy. The article is an attempt to provide a structured account of his scholarly output and to preserve the memory of his contribution to the development of religious pedagogy and philosophy of education.
