Abstract

The purpose of this article is an attempt to partially fill a gap in the Polish philosophical literature, which contains scant references to the important Italian philosopher Enzo Paci (1911-1976). He was one of the key figures of Italian phenomenology, both in the initial interpretations of Husserl’s thought and in the renewed interest in his views during the so-called second wave of Italian phenomenology since the 1960s. Paci formulates a version of relationism: a philosophy of time and relations which focuses on relations and the subject’s openness to relation. This article begins by outlining the historical and philosophical context of Paci’s work. The main part of the article addresses his relationism and its assumptions. Lastly, the final part assesses the motives for his return to Husserl’s thought.
