Abstract

The article discusses Jacek Dukaj's predictions about the development of artificial intelligence and the cultural changes that may follow. It begins with a brief outline of the current model of existence in cyberspace and the consequences resulting from it. I then move on to discuss Dukaj's article Too long, I won't read... foreshadowing his theses, which will fully resonate in an essayistic book entitled After Writing. In it, the writer discusses the concept of post-writing, the direction in which human perception will evolve. According to the writer, humanity will gradually become a new species of "survivors," abandoning writing in favor of media more attuned to the natural senses. The article concludes with an analysis of Line of Resistance, a novel in which Dukaj incorporates most of his futuristic considerations into a fictional form.

Łukasz Kucharczyk – doktor nauk humanistycznych, adiunkt w Katedrze Polskiej Literatury Współczesnej i Krytyki Literackiej na Wydziale Nauk Humanistycznych Uniwersytetu Kardynała Stefana Wyszyńskiego. Autor monografii naukowych Granice ciała. Somapoetyka w twórczości Stanisława Lema oraz Granice ludzkiego poznania. O wybranych aspektach twórczości Jacka Dukaja, kilkudziesięciu artykułów naukowych i krytycznoliterackich traktujących o polskiej literaturze współczesnej. Publikował m.in. w „Tekstualiach”, „Rocznikach Humanistycznych KUL” i „Bibliotekarzu Podlaskim”. Współpracownik kilku czasopism literackich.
