Abstract

Aggression and violence in the school environment are considered to be one of the most serious problems that the school must face. They are also one of the greatest threats to the mental health of children and adolescents, they are often the cause of physical injuries, and in extreme cases can lead to death. Violence generates serious, diverse problems on many levels of human life. One of these problems is visible at the level of communication. Communication disorders are a situation in which there is difficulty in communicating with others. They can take the form of verbal aggression or result from a lack of communication, i.e. adopting a passive attitude (this is associated with not expressing emotions, suppressing them). It is difficult for a student who has problems with interpersonal communication to meet his emotional needs, i.e. the need for security, belonging, respect, acceptance, setting realistic boundaries and expectations. Uses non-adaptive communication strategies in relationships. The aim of this article is to present problems in the area of interpersonal communication disorders among students, which result from the phenomenon of violence. The authors of the publication will also want to point out the challenges faced by educators in the field of peace education in the field of the discussed topic.
