Abstract

This research project aims to present our own experiences related to marriage and family with Saint. Augustine. St. Augustine is one of the greatest theologians in Christian antiquity. He was not a married man, but he was born in a Christian family and had some experience of living with a woman in a cohabitation. He also left a large number of letters devoted to marriage and family issues. They do not form a compact treaty on marriage and the family. They reflect current and pressing problems that bother not only Saint. Augustine, but also the people around him. It also seems that Saint. Augustine personally lived the issues he described in his writings. Marriage and family issues result from personal experience and the experience of people close to him. Augustine's views had a great impact on the attitude of the entire Western Church. His "Confessions", which contain a lot of biographical information, remain the primary source in this respect. This is an original study showing the sources of views of St. Augustine on human sexuality and his family relations.
