Abstract

Education in the digital era is continuously evolving to keep pace with the latest technological advancements and to meet the changing demands of the labour market. One of the current challenges is the integration of generative artificial intelligence technologies, such as ChatGPT, into educational practice. These technologies have the potential to provide personalised and effective learning environments while delivering timely feedback. However, attention should be paid to certain limitations related to both the models themselves and the data used to train them, as these may reinforce existing biases or generate and disseminate misinformation. The use of artificial intelligence in education also raises ethical concerns due to the potential for its misuse. Although the current level of development of generative artificial intelligence is impressive, the technology is not without significant drawbacks. It is therefore important to examine both the opportunities and the potential negative consequences of using generative artificial intelligence, as well as the changes it is likely to bring to education. This study employed ChatGPT to generate responses to selected questions and presents selected findings from a survey conducted among undergraduate students of pedagogy.
