The Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation, as a sacrament of healing and the return of
man to a state of sanctifying grace, is a permanent part of the formation of the Christian.
Conversion and the formation of the spirit of penance is not a one-off act, but is to accompany
man throughout his life. This is why the Church, in the liturgy celebrated and in
her preaching, constantly calls man to conversion and the formation of conscience in the
spirit of the Gospel. A special group of people who enter this sacrament for the first time
are children. The Church makes an effort to ensure that a person is properly instructed
and prepared to participate in the sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation. Usually,
preparation for the reception of the Holy Sacraments is done in the context of preparation
for participation in the sacrament of the Eucharist. As an example of the preparation of
children to participate in the sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation and the Eucharist,
I have presented the formation of children in Lamb groups. Nowadays, new forms of preparation
for the sacraments are being sought and these proposals are on the increase. In the
midst of the many challenges facing the Church and the faithful today, it is comforting
and hopeful to find people and even whole families who are seeking reliable and in-depth
preparation for participation in the sacraments of the Church.
