Abstract

The article presents an attempt to reflect on possible correlations between the elements of landscape, space, and places inscribed in the plots of selected films by Małgorzata Szumowska (In the Name of... [W imię…], Body [Body/Ciało], Never Gonna Snow Again [Śniegu już nigdy nie będzie], Infinite storm) and the depiction of issues related to the so-called new spirituality in them. The aim is to specify to what extent spatial factors in selected films, together with the cultural meanings they are assigned, can play the role of a medium providing insight into a wide spectrum of undefined, labile, hybrid phenomena that fit into the category of new spirituality as a socio-cultural megatrend, characteristic of the postmodern era.
