Professor Cezary Kunderewicz (1912-1990) was an outstanding Romanist, papyrologist, and expert on cuneiform law and ancient culture in the broad sense of the term. Documents from his private archives along with records preserved in the archives of the Universities of Warsaw and Łódź show the difficulties he had to overcome in his academic career.
