The concept of sustainable agriculture is multifaceted. It focuses on three pillars: environmental, economic and social, while securing the amount of agricultural production and taking care of the ecological dimension. In view of the dynamically developing geopolitical situation, it is necessary to verify the approaches used within the framework of aspects like conventional agriculture, organic agriculture, which is being intensively promoted within the EU, and sustainable agriculture, and try to answer the question which of them will be the most effective now. This article addresses selected legal aspects of sustainable agriculture and the relationship between this model and other modes of farming. The aim is to try to answer whether sustainable agriculture may be considered the best model in the face of modern challenges. This analysis uses a comparative method and content analysis based on legal acts, scientific articles, monographs and Internet sources.
