Organized Drug Crime in Poland

Abstract

The article presents an analysis of drug-related crimes committed by organized crime groups in Poland and is based on a report on the CBŚ (Polish Central Police Bureau of Investigation). Hence the first part of the article gives a description of the activities and tasks of the CBŚ. This is followed by a brief description of organized crime in Poland. Te next part of the article gives a review of drug-related crimes committed by organized crime groups in Poland, addressing issues like the illegal production of amphetamine and other synthetic drugs and the precursors for their production, the smuggling of amphetamine and other synthetic drugs, the smuggling and cultivation of cannabis and hashish, cocaine and heroin smuggling, and crimes related to the launch of new psychoactive substances and their surrogates on the drug market. Te discussion concludes with a brief description of preventive measures.
