Abstract

The aim of this article is to show how subsequent changes in Polish law on the award of academic degrees and the academic title, and in the country’s system of higher education have caused a sudden leap in the number of applications for a degree or title, not always accompanied by a sufficiently good quality of the publications candidates produce for academic promotion.

Polish legislation on higher education and academic degrees; the habilitation process; publication and translation of source materials; Romanist monographs.
