Abstract

The war in Ukraine has led to the institution of new legislation by the Republic of Poland to regulate the legal situation of Ukrainian refugees arriving in Poland. Not only Ukrainians seeking refuges in Poland, but also the Polish medical institutions and facilities, as well as the country’s medical profession are facing numerous difficulties. To relieve the problem, on 12 March 2022, the Polish parliament passed Ustawa z dnia 12 marca 2022 r. o pomocy obywatelom Ukrainy w związku z konfliktem zbrojnym na terytorium tego państwa, an act for the provision of aid to Ukrainian refugees. This article presents Ukrainian refugees’ right to health care in Poland, and explains the Polish legislation regulating the provision of medical aid to Ukrainian citizens in connection with the war in Ukraine.
